Dang envisioned the tall redwoods for his and Alicia’s engagement session while Alicia was drawn to the beach and ocean. I am so happy we were able to combine both visions into one beautiful evening. We arrived at the Muir Beach Overlook on a sunny weekend afternoon. We took a few snaps before jetting down to Muir Woods before it closed for the afternoon. Muir Woods is now reservation only, a fact I and my couple had not realized. When I learned that none of us had reserved a spot for that day, I quickly went onto the booking site and was able to snag a last-minute spot! It was such a relief to know we would get the photos this couple had hoped for. Even in the darkness of the redwood forest, we could see that the clouds were moving in. By the time we made it back to the overlook, the sun was mostly gone and a strong wind had appeared. Hello Marin County! I am so thankful this couple was all for whatever situation we were handed. They were dressed to perfection! We took a few more photos at the overlook as the wind whipped around us. We ended the session on the sand at Muir Beach and even though we did not have that golden hour light, we instead were given beautifully dynamic light. I loved capturing Alicia and Dang walking among the rocks of the coved beach. It was such an awesome evening! Looking forward to photographing these two again this fall!
