Carly & Ian | Palace of Fine Arts & Sutro Baths Engagement

Getting to know this sweet couple was definitely the highlight of this engagement session! We met at the Palace of Fine Arts on a sunny Sunday in February. I love the reason why Carly and Ian selected this location to begin their session. Ian proposed to Carly in a castle in Scotland surrounded by both of their families. Ian mentioned as we walked around the Palace of Fine Arts that the spot reminded him of Europe and many of the architectural details he remembers from their time overseas. We explored the various angles, textures and colors of this spot before making our way to Lands End/Sutro Baths. Of course, as it often is in S.F., the wind was fierce. Thankfully Carly and Ian took the turn in weather in stride and embraced the chilly temps. Thankfully we had the most spectacular golden hour that made all the shivers worth it! Carly, who was rocking jeweled stilettos, even took off her shoes to dip her toes in the sand just as the sun slipped behind the fog layer at the horizon. It is always such a dream to work with an engaging, friendly and trusting couple. Can’t wait for your wedding this fall!
