Rachel and Doug met through Rachel’s brother at the Summer of Love Festival in SF. They connected quickly and began secretly dating. It was a few months later that Doug spoke with Rachel’s brother about dating his sister. Knowing the type of guy Doug is, Rachel’s brother was so happy his sister had found her match! Doug is extroverted and outgoing, with a large group of friends from various points in his life. He is creative and kind. Rachel is more of a homebody with a genuine and nurturing spirit. Together, they are such a beautiful mix. They compliment one another and never miss an opportunity to share a sweet moment together. Their personal vows shared similar anecdotes that neither knew about. Pre-ceremony photos were focused on fun moments with their wedding party and heartfelt ones with parents. At the outdoor reception, Rachel surprised Doug with a Chinese Lion Dancer performance that had every single one of their guests cheering!
Something Rachel shared with me early on is that she is diabetic. It is a diagnosis that does not define her but rather inspires her. She quit her job in PR to pursue a career in nursing. She is an incredibly hard worker and advocate for the diabetic community. I am so inspired by her and it is evident those around her are too.
This wedding was such a pleasure to be a part of. We felt so valued and appreciated. Congratulations to R & D!
