Hayley and Brett traveled from Canada for a dream wine country vacation! These high school sweethearts were celebrating 10 years of dating. After getting settled in for a few days and enjoying some warm summer weather, Brett surprised Hayley with a proposal at a St. Helena winery on their 10 year anniversary! Hayley had booked me for a couple’s anniversary session a few weeks before their visit. I had anticipated I would be photographing some vacation-style portraits for these two. Upon my arrival to Hayley and Brett’s vacation rental, we chatted a bit and then Hayley shared the exciting news that they were engaged! Our anniversary session quickly turned into an engagement session. It was so much fun to be with a couple just a few hours after the exciting moment. We had such a wonderful time celebrating these two.

We decided on photographing at Hayley and Brett’s vacation rental property. The expansive property sits high atop the mountains of Santa Rosa. It was quite a trek to get up to the home but so worth it! The owners of the property were so accommodating and kind to allow us to explore their 70 acres! There were vineyards, oak trees, rustic grasses and even a natural spring! I couldn’t believe how many different backdrops we got to capture without having to drive at all. Congratulations Hayley and Brett!
